If You Love Game of Thrones So Much Why Don't You Just Throw a Music Festival on Its Set

Lots of music festivals design their ambiance to try to create a kind of fantasy space. Last year, Mysteryland worked hard to evoke Woodstock '69, while Coachella plays up its own free-spirited desert oasis kind of thing, and Sasquatch has a specifically Northwestern, earthy and crunchy tone going on.

With their announcement of a new festival taking place on a Game of Thrones set in Morocco, French concert promoters Panda Events are taking the idea of a music festival fantasy space to another level. Not only are you promised a weekend escape away from your depressingly familiar workweek lifestyle, but you even get to live inside one of your favorite TV shows for a few days, too.

The Moga festival is set to take place from October 14-16 in Essaouira, on Morroco's eastern coast, and is co-presented with the label and collective Runtomorrow. The event will feature performances from Gnawa musicians, playing traditional African Islamic compositions, alongside contemporary electronic sounds, as well as something called "musical brunch," beach parties, and video installations.

According to the Facebook event page, it seems like the ensemble of Gnawa performers and electronic artists will be "free to attend and open to all."

As of now neither the lineup nor tickets are available, but you can sign up on Moga's website to receive updates about them.

This isn't the first time Panda Events has hosted a festival on location—back in 2015, their Dunes Electroniques music festival took place on the set of the original Star Wars film, in the Tunisian Saharan desert.
