New York art space MoMA PS1 will host a brief series of events called Between 0 and 1: Remixing Gender, Technology, and Music this month. According to a press release, the series was organized by PAN label boss Ben Kouligas, and entails performances, talks, screenings, and workshops focusing on "the relationship between gender nonconforming identities, technology, and electronic music."The series kicks off this weekend (February 12) with a performance from Honey Dijon. The day-long event will also include a music hackathon with the Code Liberation collective, a screening and discussion of 2013 film To Valerie Solanas and Marilyn Monroe in Recognition of their Desperation (which was influenced by late experimental pioneer Pauline Oliveros's 1970 score of the same name), and Dijon in conversation with producer-manager Bill Coleman and GHE20G0TH1K's Venus X.Next weekend's event (February 19) will host Terre Thaemlitz (a.k.a. DJ Sprinkles), who will perform a selection from her 2012 album Soulessness followed by a conversation with Dijon and Juliana Huxtable. The final Sunday, February 26, will feature live performances from noise artist Dreamcrusher and Elysia Crampton, plus a lecture and performance from English artist Genesis Breyer P-Orridge.View the full schedule and ticket information over on the MoMA PS1 website.
