The best way I can ever think of to describe Car Seat Headrest is to say that if The O.C. was a show now, they'd be Seth Cohen's favorite band in place of Death Cab For Cutie (this is like, 90 percent a compliment). Sadboy rock will exist for as long as there are sadboys, which is to say that it will be a thing forever, but these days the subgenre feels slightly less plentiful than perhaps it once was: despite this, Car Seat Headrest fly the flag (which, incidentally, is the color of that specific mid-blue shade that always covers the bedroom walls of white boys in their late teens and early twenties) admirably.Last night the Seattle-based outfit showed up on Conan to deliver a new, condensed version of their track "Unforgiving Girl (She's Not An)," which is the next single from their 2016 album Teens of Desire.
