Watch Car Seat Headrest Take an Updated Version of "Unforgiving Girl" Out For a Spin on 'Conan'

The 'Teens of Denial' cut got a makeover.

The best way I can ever think of to describe Car Seat Headrest is to say that if The O.C. was a show now, they'd be Seth Cohen's favorite band in place of Death Cab For Cutie (this is like, 90 percent a compliment). Sadboy rock will exist for as long as there are sadboys, which is to say that it will be a thing forever, but these days the subgenre feels slightly less plentiful than perhaps it once was: despite this, Car Seat Headrest fly the flag (which, incidentally, is the color of that specific mid-blue shade that always covers the bedroom walls of white boys in their late teens and early twenties) admirably.

Last night the Seattle-based outfit showed up on Conan to deliver a new, condensed version of their track "Unforgiving Girl (She's Not An)," which is the next single from their 2016 album Teens of Desire. The performance has a delightfully Weezer-esque quality about it, and the new version of the track sounds like it'll settle in just fine on your car radio all summer long.
