Inside Toronto's Underground Street Racing League

The suburbs of Toronto are home to a thriving street racing community—a fact not lost on the police.

There's been a subterranean street racing scene raging in Toronto's suburbs for years, but it's a difficult world to access. Aside from the fact that meet-ups are shrouded in secrecy, the police are hellbent on breaking up the races, leading to suspicion among drivers as to who might be working as an undercover cop.

On the first episode of Smoke Show, VICE Canada managed to work its way in to Toronto's street racing community, meeting up with drivers, hanging out at races, and running from the cops who came to bust them up. We also sat down with police to hear why they're so determined to put a stop to Toronto's street racing—and how new technologies are making it easier than ever to track drivers down.
