Where are you from?
Long Eaton.

What do you hope for the future of your area?
I’m hoping it will be brighter. There’s too many muggings, stabbings, shootings. Everyone needs to realise they’re bringing the name down. I’m hoping for peace—everyone needs to grow up a little bit.

What would you like to do in the future?
I’d like to see grime get a lot bigger, but people need to stop the violence. I’m hoping to make money, release tunes, albums, and be rated all over the place. Not just Europe, but worldwide, everywhere, but obviously that takes work, so… I would like to invent a money-making machine. Money isn’t everything though, is it?

What do you think of people who rob other people?
I’m not going to knock ‘em or anything cos like I’ve done it myself; we’ve all done it. I really think people need to realise what they’re doing, though. Some people do mugging for a laugh but now people are getting killed. It’s not on.

What about the mining industry?
I don’t know really, to be honest. I haven’t really took the time to think ‘cos I’m just trying to concentrate on music. I don’t have time to think about nothing.

What about old people?
They’re all right. They’re too scared to give anyone any hassle.

What about Polish people?
I haven’t really got a problem with them. If they’re willing to work? Fair play to them.

Where are you from?

Long Eaton.

There’s a lot of miners who lived there, right?
Yeah man, they used to dig all the coal up and shit.

And now a lot of Poles live here.
I think they should go back to their own yard, you know what I mean? They should go back to their own country.

Muggers?
Mans need sending down, you know what I mean?

What are your hopes for the future?
I’d like to be a music producer and DJ.

And if you could invent some amazing machine to improve life for everybody?
Tattoos without needles. I’ve got three already and they didn’t hurt but it would be easier if there were no needles.

Where are you from?

I’m originally from St Ann’s, but I live in Basford now.

Do you like your area?
Yeah, I’m all right with it. Everyone’s like me, really.

What do you hope for the future of your area?
Not much really, I just hope this area carries on the way it is. There’s not a lot of trouble. I’d like to move back to St Ann’s or closer to town though, personally.

What would you like to do in the future?
I’d like to do something to do with sport, like a footballer. I’d love to get far in that if that was possible.

What do you think of miners?
I don’t really have any views on them, really.

What do you think of old people?
I dunno, sometimes they’re a bit wary and a bit scared to walk the streets, but some of them are all right and don’t really mind. Even though there’s a lot of crime and stuff in Nottingham, people have still got respect for the elderly.

What do you think of Polish people?
You know what, I don’t even really see them you know, apart from a couple of the girls who’ve approached me in night clubs.

What do you think of people who rob people?
Everyone knows it’s not right, but some people are in the struggle where that could be their only option to get money. Personally, I don’t think there’s enough help out there for those people who are struggling. That’s why people take it to that level. I can’t even get a job myself.

What would make your life easier in the future?
A stopwatch that could stop things from happening and try and put things right, without allowing things to go to an extreme. It would be able to stop time and roll back time and be able to put things right where things have gone wrong.

Where are you from?
Woolerton. The part where I’m from, people call it Lego Land because it looks like all the buildings are made out of Lego.

What’s it like?
Well we’ve got a good part of the area and we’ve got a bad part of the area. It’s all right, not too much goes down in my area.

What do you think of miners?
Everyone’s their own person at the end of the day; some people are good, some are bad.

What do you think of old people?
I think they look down at kids nowadays because there are a lot of bad things that are happening. They look down at you, even if you’re not a bad person. They think bad of you before they even know you. I feel sorry for them though because they’re intimidated when they walk past a big group of people.

What do you think of Polish people?
There’s a lot of people coming in from different places. Doesn’t bother me.

What would you like to see in the future?
I don’t wanna see gun crime and all the drugs and everything because when I’ve got kids I don’t want my kids to be involved in all that. I don’t think it’s changing though, if anything it’s getting worse.

What do you think of miners?
They’re friendly, some of them. Some of them can be very ignorant, but most of them are okay.

What about people who rob people?
Such as myself? Muggers are just ordinary people, just like me and you. Maybe they’re going through a hard time where they have to make a move and mug someone. It’s wrong, but that’s Nottingham. Nottingham people will always get mugged.

What about old people?
They just mind their own business and get on with what they’re doing. Every Tuesday they get their pension and go out to the market, buy toiletries, bread, milk. They’ve lived their lives so they don’t get in our way. The only time they get in our way is when there’s loads of them on the bus.

Polish people?
They’re friendly. Some of them are sexy. I’ve never seen a Polish dude apart from one who lives near me. He tries to fit in but he’s not known so he has to hang out with the much younger people on my street.

What do you hope for the future?
I’d like to see the killing all stop ‘cos no one likes to see people dying at the end of the day.

If you could invent something so you wouldn’t have to live in an economically deprived area, what would it be?
I’d like to invent a multi-million pound business that will just take over the whole music industry or maybe something that could change the weather so it’s sunny all over the world.

Where are you from?
St. Ann’s.

What’s it like?
It’s all right. I like it.

What do you think of miners?
Don’t know really, never spoken to them.

What do you think of old people?
I like my grandma, so I don’t mind them.

What do you think of Polish people?
They’re the ones that do the weird dances, right? I don’t know much about them apart from that.

What would you like to see in the future?
I’d like to see someone invent a car that’s like a miniature aeroplane so it can fly, but it’s small, like the size of a car.

What about the future of your area?
I’d like people to get on more. I’d also like to see new buildings. Personally, I’d like to be successful in my job. I’m studying law at the moment, so I’d probably like to do something to do with that.

What’s the area like where you live?

Kind of rough, innit, but it’s all right most of the time.

Do miners still live there?
I don’t see them around.

And there’s a lot of Polish here now, right?
They look pretty normal but they speak funny, so it’s annoying.

What’s your relationship with old people?
I don’t like them. When they are queuing up for buses and you push in they always seem to moan.

What do you hope for the future?
Less gun crime in Nottingham.

And an invention to improve the future?
Mixing decks where you can mix with CDs and records at the same time, but on the same deck. Oh yeah, it could also mix MP3s on the same deck too.

Where are you from?

Gedling.

What’s the area like?
It’s a good area, it’s pretty posh.

What do you think of old people?
They’re nice, never had any trouble.

Miners?
They’re cheeky. I can’t repeat some of the stuff I’ve heard them say.

Muggers?
They’re sick.

What about the Polish people that are moving into the area?
I don’t know any Polish people?

If you had an invention that could improve the area where you live, what would it be?
A toilet seat that wipes your arse.
