Watch This Guy Grab a Guitar, Sing "F You I Quit" to His Starbucks Manager

According to Anesti Danelis' website, he's a musical and sketch comedian, an actor, and a writer. There was a time when he might've tacked the words "and a Starbucks barista" to that description, but that time was before he carried his guitar into the Toronto Starbucks where he worked and sang a song that could very well be called "Fuck This, I Quit."

In the YouTube video of the performance, Danelis stands near the door to the coffee shop and shouts, "Hello everybody, can I get your attention super quick, for one second?" (And we've all been the person who gets up and nopes out of the room as soon as the Guitar Guy shows up).

The customers who stuck around got to hear Danelis' 90-ish second song that was addressed directly to his manager. "Fuck this I quit, fuck this place I quit," he sings. "I don't want to work for someone who treats their employees like shit."

He goes on to say that he's found a better job, that he's not showing up for the rest of the shifts he's been scheduled for, and yeah, that it "feels so good" to stop working for Big Mermaid. "But you can take that time you tried to get the company to fire me for doing something that you told me to do […] and shove it up your venti bumhole," he adds.

Given that Danelis is a comedy performer whose YouTube channel has roughly two dozen other songs and sketches, you'd wonder whether this was just another performance, but in an interview with People, he insists that nope, he was just an unhappy barista who decided to change his life.

"It’s meant to be, ‘I’ve had enough working here, I’m gonna remove myself from a negative situation and move on,'" he said. "It’s about moving on and being happy, cause I don’t want to live in the negatives anymore and I think that’s what people related to."

He said that he wrote the song while he was riding his bike after a particularly shit day on the job, but it took him about a month to pull his nerves together and sing it in the store. (And if you're wondering why there are so many camera angles of the performance, it's because apparently some of Danelis' friends were there and knew to start recording.)

In May 2018, Cedric Workcuff walked into a Popeye's in Kansas City, pressed play on the backing track from Big Pun's "Still Not a Player," and started spitting his own "I quit" verses. "I don’t really want to work here no more,” he sang. “And I’ma tell that y’all be dropping chicken on the floor. I’m done, I’m done, I’m done.”

But despite the fact that he literally threw his apron on the floor on the way out, shouting "See you never" in the direction of the bewildered employees behind the counter, Workcuff never even worked at the restaurant.

"I was an ignorant witness who thought it was real until afterward,” one customer told VICE at the time. “He didn't work there but I totally thought it was real until the employees said, ‘Who the fuck was that?!" right after he left.”

We're honestly not sure whether Johnny Paycheck would be down with all of this or not.
