Some of Britain's Worst People Are On Fox News Commenting on the London Attacks

Today, Brits got a taste of the frustration many Americans must feel all the time, as we once again watched a major news event reported through the crazy prism of Fox News. While British TV news has been restrained in reporting the nature of the attacks or making assumptions about the perpetrators, hosts on Fox News' Sunday morning show were quick to talk about how the killings followed teachings in the Qur'an, and repeatedly attacked "the Muslim Mayor of London" for not denouncing extremist Islam.

Indeed, the channel had invited some of Britain's worst people on as political commentators. Katie Hopkins, recently fired from LBC for tweeting Britain needed a "final solution" after the Manchester terror attack, was asked whether there should be internment camps reminiscent of the Japanese camps during World War II.

She said, "I don't think Theresa May has got the stomach to do that," and went on to say, "We need internment camps." She also attacked Sadiq Khan (she called him "our Muslim mayor Sadiq Khan't") and Theresa May for failing to promise that 3,000 people on the UK's terror watchlist will be "rounded up tomorrow".

Nigel Farage also discussed internment, saying calls would grow stronger for it to be used – although suggested that it "will create more martyrs". Afterwards, he said that large swathes of east London had become "wholly Muslim areas" where "gangs of Muslim men tell women in short dresses they shouldn't be there". He appeared to be talking about one story from three years ago, which resulted in two men being jailed.

Another British contributor, Mark Stein, used the attack to campaign about benefits, Jeremy Corbyn and environmentalism. He said terrorists "don't have to work" because they get money from the state. He blamed Jeremy Corbyn for "believing that Britain is imperialist, racist and evil", and said the lack of pride in his country is reflected in extremists. He said we need to stop worrying about climate change, the main issue dominating US politics at the moment, claiming, "I'm not worried about sea levels on the Maldives rising in 2100 because those islands are Sunni Muslim and they will all be living in Paris."

Fox News' rolling coverage continues. At the time of writing, the pundits' only comment on the police's rapid response is that it "took eight minutes for this to unfold; a lot would have been prevented in those eight minutes had the police been able to arm themselves".

The police were armed. They shot the terrorists.

Update: After this article was published, Fox News, in a rare move, released a statement clarifying that they don't support internment camps.
