Chino Moreno of Deftones Broke His Foot Onstage But He Kept on Rockin'

His dedication to the pit is truly unmatched.

Belgium's Groezrock festival took place last weekend (Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 April). As a punk event, it's known for its fair share of rough and tumble, but that's usually among the fans (in the FUCKIN' pit!!) rather than the performers on stage. Apparently Chino of Deftones fame didn't quite get the memo, seeing as how he fell off an amp and broke his foot. Helpfully, someone recorded it and put it on YouTube for posterity:

You'll notice, however, that he continues to rock out despite the injury. Truly, his dedication to the pit is of the sort that I have literally never shown to anything in my life. Is Chino a little pissy baby who cries about something as minor as a broken foot? No, he is a big man who hops around the stage bawling into his microphone, like a professional. He is an inspiration to all of us.

However, the injury meant that the band did, on Monday night, have to cancel a show in Cologne, and issued a short Facebook statement addressing the matter:

Of course, despite Chino's admirably moxie, he's not the first frontman to break some bones onstage – another notable example is Dave Grohl, who broke a leg during a Foo Fighters set back in 2015. But, a word of warning to Chino: you should probably beware, because we all know how Dave's big break ended up.
