Watch the First Official Trailer for ‘Trainspotting 2’

The cult film’s long-awaited sequel will be in US theaters in February.

The official trailer for the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 cult film Trainspotting is finally here. The clip for T2: Trainspotting shows director Danny Boyle bringing the original cast—Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Robert Carlyle, and Ewen Bremner—back together for a high octane follow-up to the dark comedy about a group of Scottish heroin addicts. Watch it above.

The trailer opens with Underworld's "Born Slippy", one of the defining tracks of 90s dance music that featured heavily in the original film. Trainspotting's soundtrack was hugely influential, especially in the U.S. where it was credited with giving dance music mainstream exposure. Wolf Alice's "Silk" also features in the sequel trailer.

T2: Trainspotting will be released in the UK on January 27, and will be in US theaters from February 2.
