Last week, we reported on a medical condition afflicting brunch-obsessed millennials across the country: avocado hand. In a truly telling tale of our times, doctors from the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons issued a warning about the improper preparation of the popular green toast topper, as increasing numbers of people seriously cut their hands while attempting to remove the skin or stone from an avocado.

The struggle is real.

But now, supermarket Iceland could have a solution to #avocadoinjury woes. In the bloody wake of avocado hand, the British chain has launched frozen, pre-sliced avocado so you can smash and smoothie without the Hass-le (pun fully intended).

From this week, stores across the UK will stock bags of the "injure-proof" frozen avocados, which retail at £2.50 and come de-stoned, peeled, and sliced. The supermarket told MUNCHIES in a press statement that freezing the avo slices allows the fruit to remain at peak ripeness and helps reduce food waste. Iceland's consultant head chef Neil Nugent said: "Our frozen avocado is a great staple for every avocado lover's freezer, allowing them to create delicious recipes, reduce waste, and avoid injury—all at the same time."

MUNCHIES also reached out to the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons to get their take on Iceland's injury-reducing product but did not hear back at the time of publishing.

But if you don't fancy shelling out for pre-prepared avo, you could, y'know, just learn how to slice stuff without getting your fingers in the way.
