This 'Game of Thrones' Trailer Set in Modern Day Is Incredible

Would I watch ‘Westeros the Series’? Yes, I would.

With 'Game of Thrones' heading into its eighth and final season, it's no secret that HBO is working on a number of spin-off series that will keep its millions of viewers coming back to Westeros.

HBO is currently developing five (FIVE!) different series from four different writers (although, it's unclear how many will be greenlit) and fans have been breathlessly speculating what could be in store. Prequels set during Robert's Rebellion or during Aegon the Conqueror's invasion of Westeros? Maybe we could head to Essos for the Doom of Valyria? Or maybe we could go all the way back to the First Men and have a series about Bran the Builder and construction of the Wall? All good questions, including why I can remember all this fake shit and not a thing from all my university history courses?

Anyway, one idea that hasn't been talked about very much (because George RR Martin has said the new show will be a prequel) is this very simple premise: Game of Thrones…but in the future.

Fortunately, we already live in a future where supernerds can use cheap technology and advanced editing skills to put fanmade trailers on the ole YouTube.

Westeros the Series was put up yesterday and it's best described as Thrones meets 1984 meets Caprica (that's the barely-watched Battlestar Galactica prequel). It has everything HBO viewers love—dragons, speeches by men with British accents, guns, sexy sex scenes, creepy little girls, stilettos, wolves, the Rains of Castamere, explosions, and blue-eyed zombies.

Your search is over, HBO! Give Bryan Fuller a call and let's shoot this.
