The Hangover News

This weekend, a rowdy stag do caused an unscheduled flight landing, Wetherspoons slashed their Sunday roast menu and more.

JD Wetherspoon pubs are to discontinue their Sunday dinners, as of March 6th, according to the Sun. That's also Mother's Day, so maybe this is just a beautifully timed marketing ploy.

A Spoons spokesperson reportedly told The Sun that the death of their generally £7 roast dinners was "just one of those things", and that "there will be a lot of disappointed people and we apologise for that. But sometimes you have to make a commercial decision."

People reacted on social media, as ever, inspiring the worry that perhaps there are thousands around the country who haven't yet learned how to roast potatoes, meat and root vegetables.

S.C. for Hillary

Hillary Clinton secured a win in the South Carolina primary over fellow Democrat and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, taking almost 74 per cent of the votes cast. Sanders pulled in 26 percent of votes.

Exit polls showed that about eight in 10 African-Americans had voted for Clinton, in a state that had seen the so-called black vote last side with Obama over Clinton in 2008.

"Despite what you may hear we don't need to America great again," she said in her victory speech on Saturday night, alluding to Republican candidate Donald Trump's recent mantra. "America has never stopped being great." America's long-winded journey towards finding a new president continues, with Super Tuesday – when several states all hold primaries – happening this week.

24-Hour Charity People
DJ EZ PLAYED A 24-HOUR SET TO RAISE MONEY FOR CANCER RESEARCH
He mixed with all the dead-eyed perseverance of a wedding DJ, for a good cause

Former Kiss FM DJ EZ spent most of his weekend bopping and mixing, stooped over some decks while playing a 24-hour set for charity until 6PM on Sunday.

He made it all the way through, dropping a series of garage, bass, dancehall and reggae tracks and raising more than £50,000.

DJ EZ's effort, for Cancer Research UK, brought to mind Dermot O'Leary's recent 24-hour dance marathon for Sport Relief. Whereas Dermot ended his day looking like a bug-eyed child who'd just had his first cup of coffee, EZ seemed pretty composed throughout. Being able to lean against the table probably helped.

HALF OF A STAG DO WAS THROWN OFF A FLIGHT TO SLOVAKIA
Six guys were partying too hard, forcing the Ryanair plane to make an unplanned stop in Berlin

All aboard the banter bus that's actually a plane. Six out of 12 friends travelling on a stag do from Luton to Bratislava on Friday night were chucked off their flight for being too rowdy, after the pilot had to make an unscheduled landing in Berlin.

The men, aged between 25 and 28, were reportedly drunk, and "became aggressive" when the flight crew wouldn't serve them more alcohol. Apparently one guy may have started taking his clothes off, but that isn't confirmed. It was all enough to warrant their petulance a threat to the safety of passengers onboard, according to the Berlin police department's press release. Top bants. Hilarious. Really good stuff.

They could face fines of up to £19,700 under aviation security laws, but won't be identified as per German law, apparently.

"We will not tolerate unruly or disruptive behaviour at any time and the safety and comfort of our customers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority," Ryanair said in a statement to the Guardian. "This is now a matter for local police."
