Grab your whip and satchel, because Indiana Jones is returning to the silver screen in 2019. Steven Spielberg himself will direct, with Harrison Ford reprising the titular role of archaeology professor-turned-adventurer who tangles Nazis, Commies, and ghosts to preserve history that belongs in a museum. Franchise veterans Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will produce under Lucasfilm's new ownership at Walt Disney Studios.

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” says Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn. “It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

The new film doesn't yet have a title, and there's no world about whether Shia LaBeouf will take a break from his performance art escapades with collective-mates Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner to once more don the leather jacket and motorcycle of Jones' son, Mutt Williams.

With the success of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, it's no surprise that Disney is clamoring for more sequels. As one of the original sequel-machines of the 80s, Indiana Jones is still in good shape to pull its weight at cinemas once more. Even science indicates that Ford's character is one of the most popular of all time, and the franchise has net a total of $2 billion since Raiders of the Lost Ark came out in 1981.

Enjoy John Williams' classic score and Ford's scoundrel-y vibe in the original Indiana Jones trailer below, and GET PUMPED.

The new film is set to open on July 19, 2019. Visit Walt Disney Studios for more information.
