On Tuesday, Demi Lovato was rushed to the hospital after what is suspected to be an overdose of an unspecified drug, at the time of writing. TMZ reports that the pop star was treated with Narcan, a drug used in overdoses, shortly after the ambulance was called to her Hollywood home.

Last month, Lovato released a song entitled "Sober," where she sings, "I'm not sober anymore," apologising to her parents, fans, and herself. "I'm sorry that I'm here again / I promise I'll get some help / It wasn't my intention, I'm sorry to myself." When teasing the song on social media, Lovato captioned a video with "my truth…". She had reportedly been sober since 2012.

At this moment, Lovato's condition is still unknown.

UPDATE 09.20AM BST on Wednesday 25 July: NBC News reports, via a spokesperson for Lovato, that she is "awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support." The spokesperson added, "Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy."

This story is developing and was modified to clarify that the substance on which Lovato reportedly overdosed was unknown at the time of writing.
