A sex-crazed herd of 20 "extremely randy" deer has escaped from a Devon farm.

The herd was being bred for venison when they jumped a fence to escape, according to the Daily Mail.

A spokesperson warns that "because the deer are about to enter their rutting and mating season, the stags may become aggressive."

Police have warned motorists on the nearby M5 motorway to be vigilant, amid concerns that the deer might attack cars. Apparently, honking at the deer can cause the animals to perceive the cars as rival males, leading to scuffles as the deer fight one another for potential sexual partners. The herd—believed to be native red deer, which can weigh upwards of 200lbs, and run more than 5ft tall—are most active at dawn and dusk.

According toThe Mirror, one stag bellowed "aggressively" at a terrified motor-biker on a road near Uffculme, before jumping a five-bar fence to escape. Fortunately however, no injuries have yet to be reported.
