IAMDDB's New Video for "Conjuring" Is a Lit Underground Party

The Manchester artist's 'Hoodrich Vol 3' cut is all trap, dark synths and self-belief.

IAMDDB is an original. It isn't an exaggeration to say that the Manchester-based artist sounds like absolutely nobody else, and that's a rare thing that should be protected. Yesterday, she dropped the music video for her Hoodrich Vol 3 track "Conjuring" (see it above), and the combination of sound and video prove that she's not only got the zeitgeist in the palm of her hand, but that she's making unique art that speaks to right now, while existing in a league of its own. There's a reason, after all, why she came third in the BBC's Sound of 2018 poll.

This track's sinister synths are enhanced by the video's flashy, atmospheric lighting, and while the overall sound brings to mind the bit in a contemporary horror film when shit's about to go down, the video is all party. IAMDDB turns up alongside a load of friends, and her presence on camera is just one more reminder that she's one of the most important new faces in British music right now.
