Yes, as well as being a tireless recording artist, performer and cyclist, Gucci is now dipping his toe into the world of the written word, with a memoir to be published in September by Simon & Schuster. Of the project, started by Gucci when he was in prison and co-written with former XXL editor Neil Martinez-Belkin, the publishers say:

What I'm imagining is Shawshank Redemption meets Fear and Loathing (because of the inevitable gonzo lean anecdotes) told through the eyes of Gucci actual Mane, prophet for our times and inspirational figure. Basically what I'm saying with literally no irony is: Gucci Mane's autobiography is about to be the next Great American Novel. His life is the realisation of the American Dream. Kids will learn this in school – just ask the man himself:For the first time Gucci Mane tells his story in his own words.
