Watch a Rug Cut a Rug in an Award-Winning Animator's New Video

Jonathan Hodgson's 'RUG' is a damn good roll around the floor.
Screencap via

Rugs of various colors and designs flash on-screen to a steady and fun metallic drumbeat in this new video by BAFTA-winning animation director Jonathan Hodgson. Interspersed with photos of the family cat Skittle, sounds and images work together in a way that makes you want to simultaneously get up and dance and never look away from the intricate carpet patterns.

Shot with an iPhone and a Canon 450D, the video’s fast pace conveys movement and dance, and simply a good time. Hodgson’s other work include short films based on Charles Bukowski's poetry and an exploration of religion. See more on his Vimeo page.
