London's Only Porn Cinema Has Been Shut Down Ten Days After Reopening

Why won't they just let the wankers do their thing? Ten days after the only porn cinema in London reopened, it has been closed down again. The cinema, dubbed The Office, was reportedly shuttered after the venue's landlord discovered what was going down on his premises. Tower Hamlets council confirmed that a licence had not been given, or even applied for.

The cinema was previously located in New Cross, south-east London, but evicted after locals complained. So the hope from the sex cinema attendee community was that its new home in the basement of a building in Limehouse would be a more permanent place for them to get together, watch blue movies and take the edge off the week with a little masturbation.

When we went down to the opening of the place on the 16th of this month we found people watching My Husband Is Fucking the Nanny Vol 2 and having a lovely old time. Sadly, it was not to last, and regulars have already been voicing their dismay online.

"What a total waste of time and money, and I guess many disappointed clients – I was planning going on Saturday," said one forum goer, according to the Evening Standard. "Went there last week and met a very attractive girl so can't wait until they find new premises," said another.

As yet it's unclear whether or not the porn cinema will open again in a new home, or if this is the final straw – the true death of the capital's last remaining wank theatre. Either way, you can rest assured that if it does begin anew, a phoenix rising from the ashes, your old pals at VICE will be there to watch it happen.
