Even The Avalanches Aren't

The sample-hungry Australians released their live set just weeks before their second album finally drops.

Alright, we waited for 16 years for them to come back and when they did the result was slightly less than stellar, but hey, The Avalanches really are back! Everyone's favourite musical magpies are nearly ready to release their second album, the XL-signed Wildflower, and have been playing a few shows to get everyone hyped again after the deflated balloon that was the MF Doom and Danny Brown featuring "Frankie Sinatra".

Earlier this month the group trekked to Barcelona for a live set at Primavera, but according to a message posted on their SoundCloud page, things didn't quite go to plan:

Live primavera desk tape. Enjoy y'all. Put this show together an hour before showtime after visa fuckups nixed our live band plans.
Thank fuck we had our vinyl with us. Special thanks and much love to Jamie xx who came through for us with the classic 'good times' acapella at the last moment!
Much love J x
Mixing is ruff as fuck but that's the way we roll. None of this ableton bullshit, this is punk rock kids!
Was a great night and won't forget the love you showed us primavera xx

The result is pre-drink friendly slice of genre-hopping which you could soak up in full on the band's SoundCloud but has since been inexplicably deleted. Probably something to do with those pesky SoundCloud regulations.

Wildflower is out on July 8th via XL Recordings
