Former Premier League goalie Márton Fülöp has lost his battle with cancer.

Former Premier League goalkeeper Márton Fülöp has died following a battle with cancer. He was 32.

Hungarian-born Fülöp spent almost a decade in England, first signing for Tottenham in 2004. He turned out for several clubs on loan, then established himself at Sunderland. He also spent a season as number one at Ipswich Town.

On the international stage, Fülöp made 24 appearances between the sticks for the Hungarian national side.

After leaving England he played in Greece for Asteras Tripoli, but his career was ended in 2013 when a malignant tumour was discovered in his arm during a routine operation.

Spurs were among those to express their sympathy today.
