Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor (the guy who helmed last week's "Beyond the Wall" episode) all but confirmed that what we knew was going to happen is, in fact, going to happen: Jon Snow and his maybe-probably-secret aunt Daenerys are going to get it on.

"There's no secret that this is where this is going," Taylor said of the budding "romantic chemistry" in a new interview with the Daily Beast. "Readers of the book have known that things were heading towards this destination for a while. Even the characters in this story know it's heading in this direction."

And sure, he's right. Game of Thrones is a show where attractive fantasy people fuck and fight and hit ice zombies with flaming swords, and since we've already seen the two most attractive heroes in the show bash White Walkers together, its only a matter of time before they smash, too. But this is the first time we've gotten any semblance of real confirmation from the people running the show.

There's also the popular fan theory that Dany could unknowingly be Jon Snow's aunt, but a little incest hasn't stopped anyone in Westeros before. It's not clear when—or if—the two will ever discover Jon's parentage, but according to Taylor, their big bang scene is on the horizon.

"The fact that they are starting to fall for each other is huge," Taylor added. "It comes down to tiny moments and how they interact with each other. They're holding hands and there's this great look where she's swooning and she steps back from it, but it's clear that that's our destination at this point."

The Game of Thrones season seven finale is set to air Sunday, August 27, on HBO. The episode, called "The Dragon and the Wolf," is going to be a whopping 80 minutes long, so you may have to wait until Monday to see if David Bowie shows up as a giant tea kettle again on Twin Peaks.
