Petition Demands Kanye West Curate the Venice Biennale

Over 1,000 people have signed the Change.org petition, "APPOINT KANYE WEST TO CURATE THE VENICE BIENNALE." Galvanizing their ranks with the hashtag #BiennalYe, these intrepid culture warriors are not dissuaded by the fact Okwui Enwezor has already been appinted as this year's curator, and according to the petition they "have expanded [their] horizons, and will now maintain the petition in perpetuity until Ye is finally appointed artistic director of the Venice Biennale, as he was born to do."

As Artnet points out, Kanye—or rather, Dr. Kanye thanks to his new honorary degree from SAIC—is no stranger to curation, and his recent art lecture at Oxford coincides with the news that Drake is curating an exhibition with Sotheby's.

So, could this really happen? The Change.org petetition still needs about 4,000 more signatures before it's full, so we'll just have to wait and see, but if Yeezus moves you, you can add your name here.
