EA SPORTS UFC 2 is the most wincingly realistic combat game we've laid our eyes upon, ever. Forget about your Mortal Kombat finishing moves and multi-blow Street Fighter combos – the knockouts and high kicks, bloody brows and split lips of this EA Canada-developed mixed martial arts sim represent the most gloriously visceral legal violence to grace a video game screen.

But UFC 2 isn't all furious fists in place of studied tactics. Based on the wildly popular Ultimate Fighting Championship brand, and featuring competitors including cover stars Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor alongside a massive cast of playable pugilists, this is a game of remarkable depth, featuring myriad play style options. There's a mode for every fight fan, ranging from the newly introduced UFC Ultimate Team, in which you can compete in online and offline competitions to progress your fighters and earn coins, to devastatingly simple Knockout battles, giving each fighter a "traditional" health meter and inviting them to slug it out with no holding allowed.

Choose to go to ground, playing the game just like the real thing, and UFC 2 delivers. The game's makers have overhauled the gameplay of 2014's original UFC, with refined grappling mechanics using an easy to follow HUD. A new practice mode allows you to really master your moves, too; while real-world bouts are reflected in-game through its Live Events mode. And when you're done playing solo, go online to take on the world, or get your friends over for some same-sofa competition. He or she who finishes the fight doesn't do the washing up.

Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? That's because it is – VICE Gaming has had its hands on the game, and its fantastically painful-looking knockout physics, incredible animation and slick presentation across the board had us gripped. And you can get yourself a copy of your own by entering our competition via the widget above. DO NOT DO THAT. THIS COMPETITION IS CLOSED.

One winner, drawn at random, will receive the game on PlayStation 4, plus a PS4 console to play it on. This is a special pre-order edition of EA SPORTS UFC 2, featuring Mike Tyson as a playable fighter. Four runners-up will receive the same special edition of the game on PS4. All you have to do is enter, and cross your fingers.

This competition closes on Monday March 14th, 2015. The competition is only open to UK residents aged 18 and over at the time of entry. Full terms and conditions are available HERE.
