After the debut of _Star Wars: The Force Awakens_, the cinematic super power announced their latest enterprise, _[Star Wars Headspace](http://www.starwarsheadspace.com/)_, an original electronic dance album produced and curated by none other than music industry titan Rick Rubin. Similar to what [Daft Punk did with _Tron_](http://www.amazon.com/TRON-Legacy-Reconfigured-Various-Artists/dp/B004M20YDU) in 2011, _Star Wars Headspace_ features a selection of tunes inspired by the _Star Wars_ soundboard from a lineup of prominent young artists.

Since the start of the epic in 1977, George Lucas has been carefully weaving original scores into the _Star Wars_ narrative. Throughout space opera, music and sound have served as consistent creative outlets that breathe life into the _Star Wars_ universe and fill it with authenticity. _Spin_ [reminds us](http://www.spin.com/2016/02/rick-rubin-star-wars-headspace-flying-lotus-baauer-stream/) that Lucas even went as far as to trademark the type of music played in cafes and cantinas throughout the Star Wars universe.

The official _Star Wars_ website and blog posted a track list yesterday featuring such names as Flying Lotus, Breakbot, Rustie, and Bonobo. Director of _The Force Awakens_ J.J Abrams&#x2019; also appears on the album along with [Lin-Manuel Miranda](http://www.linmanuel.com/), the mastermind behind Broadway&#x2019;s hit biographical rap musical, _[Hamilton](http://www.hamiltonbroadway.com/)_.
