That last B stands for “Beamer,” meaning projector, and if you’ve got one, you will want to check out this party. Tonight, Friday, October 19th, Nuit Blanche New York invites anyone with a projector and a playback device (laptop, media player, DVD player) to pack it up and bring it to The Autumn Bowl in Greenpoint, Brookyln to project onto any and all surfaces within light’s reach.Creating a “collaborative tapestry of overlapping moving imagery,” BYOB is a recurring event that has been catching on over the last couple of years since its inception. Rafaël Rozendaal initiated the concept for the first time in Berlin in 2010. Since then, a global network of BYOB events has emerged.More information about BYOB can be found here, and you can grab tickets for tonight here.BYOB AmsterdamBYOB London“Today the internet is confined to screens. Tomorrow information will surround us, composing our surfaces, defining our spaces, enmeshing itself with the ether. A moving image is never an object, and when it is coupled with the increased flexibility of portable projection, the realm of experience quickly expands.” – Rafaël RozendaalCheck out our profile on Rozendaal to learn more.Images and video courtesy of www.byobworldwide.com@CreatorsProject
