We were going to big this mix up by talking about sunglasses and sizzling sausages and Piz Buin and heatstroke and grass stains and ice cold pints of lager, but then the good weather vanished and now we're soaked and miserable and wearing coats indoors. God bless Great Britain! We were going to mention all that because it's been scientifically proven that UK Garage is the most summer-friendly music on the planet, and we've got a brand new UKG mix for you to listen to. So we were hoping that it'd be really sunny today but alas, it isn't. But the music is still good, so there's that at least.

Mixed by the legendary DJ Spoony—the only man in the world to have hosted 606 and a long-running Radio 1 garage show—ahead of his set at this year's Eastern Electrics festival alongside the likes of Seth Troxler, Skream, Cassy and Kölsch, we're delighted to be bringing you an hour of typically bold and bumping garage. THUMP: Why do you think that we still can't get enough of UKG on sunny days? What is it about the sound the resonates so strongly with us?
DJ Spoony: It's a music that invokes happiness. Warmth, it makes us smile. All things that the sun does to us. I listen to it all year round but when the sun comes out it really is 'all about the UKG'

On that note, what's your favourite thing to BBQ?
Corn on the cob.
