Belgians Like Butterfly Wings...and Other Things We Learned at Tomorrowland

Butterfly wings and burly Belgians abound.

Belgium used to just be known for chips with mayonnaise, mussels, that little statue of a child having a wee and…that's it. That's all Belgium was known for. That all changed in 2005 when Belgium started hosting the largest festival in the world, Tomorrowland. Yeah, that's right. Little old Belgium plays home to the biggest festival on the planet. Mad. Just imagine how many chip vans must be on site. It truly boggles the mind.

Tomorrowland has since ventured abroad, with sister festivals popping off in the US (TomrrowWorld) and Brazil (the imaginatively named Tomorrowland Brasil), but it's the original that we hold dear to our hearts.

You might have read of coverage of this year's bash, so we thought we'd give you a visual treat too. Last weekend we sent photographer Christopher McCory to Belgium, armed with a camera and a devilish glint in his eye. Here's what he came back with.
