The Hangover News

There was another public US shooting rampage this weekend, but you were probably too drunk to notice.

Yet another American flaunting their constitution-given right to armed protection decided to protect themselves by shooting dead four innocent people in Santa Monica.

Reports suggest that the gunman first set his father's house on fire, then shot at a passing driving (injuring her) before carjacking another woman.

The heavily armed man instructed the woman to drive to Santa Monica College (where he was reportedly enrolled in 2010), but not before stopping to shoot at a city bus (where he injured two passengers) and various bystanders on the street.

The gunman then arrived at the college campus, where he continued shooting until police turned up and shot him dead.

The killer's motives still aren't known, but investigators are looking into the possibility of the rampage being sparked by a case of domestic violence, as the first two victims were the gunman's father and brother.

THE PAST WEEK DIDN'T MAKE THE PEOPLE OF FRANCE LOOK PARTICULARLY GREAT
Some right-wing thugs killed a teenager and a load of people are still protesting against gay marriage

It's been a bad international week of news for France, with a minority of idiots doing everything they can to tarnish the country's name.

First, a group of far-right skinheads beat 18-year-old anti-fascist activist Clément Méric to death after he confronted them outside a Fred Perry store in Paris.

Eight suspects have been held and French president François Hollande described the incident as "an odious act", while several other politicians have blamed protests against France's decision to legalise gay marriage for creating an atmosphere of fear and violence.

And those protests are still ongoing, with one anti-gay marriage demonstrator storming the court of the men's final at the French Open while waving around a lit flare.

In the face of Méric's murder and reports of homophobic attacks across France, French interior minister Manuel Valls pledged his "total determination to eradicate this violence that bears the hallmarks of the extreme right".

US ISLAMIC GROUPS ARE URGING BRITISH MOSQUES TO INSTALL SAFE ROOMS AND PANIC ALARMS
They reckon Muslims are at a greater risk in the UK than any other Western country

In a depressing indictment of how bigoted Britain has become after the murder of Lee Rigby in Woolwich, American Islamic group, The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), has advised the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) to revise its security regulations because they think that UK mosques are at "more at risk than anywhere, including the States".

CAIR, America's largest Muslim advocacy group, are suggesting that mosques should be protected with transparent fences, security officials, three-inch-thick doors, wire screens on windows, panic alarms and safe rooms because, according to a CAIR spokesman, of "groups like the English Defence League marching on mosques and a spike in violent right-wing groups".

According to a government-funded project that monitors and records anti-Muslim attacks, about 12 UK mosques have been targeted since Woolwich, including a petrol bomb attack at a mosque in Grimsby.

A spokesman for MCB said that, while panic alarms could be installed, it is important that mosques don't become too security conscious, as, "We want these places to be open, and seen to be welcoming places that people would not hesitate to visit."

Horribly Misguided Ideas
A GUY TURNED UP FOR A CHILD CUSTODY HEARING IN A FULL NAZI OUTFIT
Even though Heath Campbell named his kid Adolf Hitler, he stresses he's still a "good father"

(via)

A couple of years ago, 40-year-old Heath Campbell's kids were taken into state custody, allegedly due to evidence of domestic abuse.

Campbell, however, maintains that it was because of the Nazi-tribute names he and his wife had given them – Adolf Hitler and JoyceLynn Aryan Nation were their first two kids – that their children had been taken into care.

So it seems odd that, when going to court to battle for visitation rights to his youngest son last week, Campbell dressed in a full Nazi outfit (which, don't worry, still showed off his swastika neck tattoo) and trimmed his moustache into a style highly reminiscent of the original Adolf Hitler.

Before the hearing, Campbell told news teams that, "The world needs to see who I am."

It's unclear whether Campbell is aware that this strategy is not going to get anyone – least a judge – on side.
