​Disclosure's Comeback Music Video Features Huge Spliffs and Telekinetic Tattoos in a Dystopian Future

Since scene-leading UK garage pop act Disclosure dropped their raunchy club tune "Bang That" a couple of months ago, the anticipation for their sophomore album Caracal has been building on both sides of the pond as the release date has been set for September 25 and a cast of co-conspirators including Sam Smith, Lion Babe, and Nao has been announced.

The brothers Lawrence have followed up on the excitement around the release of their second tune in quick succession, "Holding On," featuring Gregory Porter, by surprise-dropping the video for the cut today on YouTube.

"We wanted to create something very different with our music videos this time around. Something unique that would connect all the songs from the album and the videos in a special way," said Disclosure in a press release. "This is the first of a series of four amazing videos directed by Ryan Hope that come together to create a short film titled Caracal. So, as each music video comes out, the plot unfolds."

Now, we're not film critics around here, but the video, clocking in at over six minutes, is some cinematic shit. Shot in Mexico City, the scene is set in a dystopian, not-too-distant future, in which a police state is rejected by a tightly-woven, familial bunch of Spanish speakers who like to party and have tattoos that may or may not move physical objects.

Also, a shamanic tattoo artist smokes the biggest spliff we've ever seen. At the end, our protagonista vandalizes a car with her mind, setting off the ire of the police state, from which she escapes on a motorcycle.

It ends "to be continued," so it's safe to say that the new world painted by this video will be a running theme as more Disclosure tunes are released from the album.
