Guys, Let's Get Tower Hamlets To Build A Wiley Statue In Bow

And engrave his best tweets on the plaque

Wiley could finally be getting the recognition he deserves from Tower Hamlets. Over the last 24 hours, a petition to get the grime godfather his own statue erected in Bow has started to gather pace.

It goes without saying that without Mr. Richard Cowie, most people wouldn’t know their “Next Hype” from their “Bow E3”. Of course, as well as being the grime mecca, Bow also happens to be Wiley’s backyard.

Over 1000 supporters are already expressing their diehard support for Eski after Rinse DJ and JME sibling, Julie Adenuga, set up the movement on change.org. It could just be a matter of time before the vertices of Roman Road and Grove Road have a bronze Wiley for tourists and locals to ogle at.

Read the petition here and go sign the ting:

We the people feel very passionate about the public figures in our community who have helped shape our culture and environment as we've grown up from teenagers to young adults to mothers and fathers. As we journey through our day-to-day lives as commuters, as cyclists, as pedestrians and road users it's refreshing to be reminded of uplifting and entertaining role models, especially ones who were born and nurtured on the same streets as us.

Richard Cowie (aka Wiley) has undoubtedly inspired an entire generation. A man who has put his heart and soul into what he believes in and consistently shows passion and perseverance.

Making this happen won't be strenuous or daunting - it will be a joyous experience for all, with the community pulling together from all over London and it's surrounding cities.

Who knows? This may be the start of something amazing! With people all over the UK paying homage to the others who have motivated generations.

Proposed location: Mile End Park on Roman Road/Grove Road
