St Pauli's Manager Wasn't There for a Signing, So They Just Brought in a Guy in a Mask Instead

Turns out Ewald Lienen is a professional piss-taker.

FC St. Pauli, the Hamburg football team popular with hipsters because of their left-wing leanings and spooky skull-and-crossbones logo, have replaced their manager with a man wearing a mask of his face.

In lieu of Ewald Lienen being present to unveil the signing of new player Marvin Ducksch, the club drafted in some other guy, gave him an Ewald Lienen mask, took a photo and uploaded it to their official Twitter account.

Understandably, Ducksch didn't look very pleased about the whole thing. The former Borussia Dortmund player has taken what is generally considered a massive step down from the Bundesliga – the top tier of German football – to FC St. Pauli, which is in the league below, and then his new manager doesn't turn up and instead sends along some joker in a mask.

Look closely and you'll notice he's wearing an expression that says: "Are you taking the fucking piss, mate?" The answer to which is, invariably: yes.
