Hackman Delivers a Silky Smooth Mix of House and Funk

The artist clearly has a knack for weaving various musical threads into a sumptuous and pleasing whole.

Speaking to THUMP last year, before the release of his Carry On EP, producer Ben Hackman explained how growing up in the countryside played an important role in shaping his music taste. "In the middle of nowhere you have a different set of influences," he told Nick Yim. Much like the man himself, Hackman's THUMP mix is a mishmash of influences drawing on classic house, garage and funk interspersed with silky smooth R&B vocals. While he might have long since relocated to the city, Hackman clearly still has a knack for weaving various musical threads into a sumptuous and pleasing whole.
