Soothe Your Weary Self With This Exclusive Mix From Eglo Record's Alexander Nut

The master curator has gifted us over an hour's worth of sultry selections.

Depending on which way you swing (electorally speaking) you might not have woken up in the best mood today. While we don't have any influence on the way the country is run, we can offer a little light relief in the shape of this gorgeous downbeat mix from Alexander Nut, ahead of his appearance at Soundwave Croatia this summer.

Nut has been one of the most constantly productive forces in UK electronic music in recent years. Having started out on pirate radio in Wolverhampton, he went on to join the late but legendary Zzonked Music promotions, working on projects with Amy Winehouse, Kanye, MF Doom and J Dilla.

Since then he has gone on to start his own label, the perennially progressive Eglo Records, which has introduced the likes of Floating Points (who Nut runs the label with), Fatima, and Funkineven to the world. As if one label wasn't enough, Nut also personally heads up HoTep, Eglo's more experimental sister, which recently released Henry Wu's Negotiate EP.

The master curator is also pretty good behind the decks, and has generously made us this exclusive mix. Just like his tastes, the selections are genre spanning, bouncing between dub, funk, soul, hip-hop and everything in between. If you like what you hear (which we are pretty sure you will) Alexander Nut can be found mixing on his Rinse FM show every Saturday 12-2. Considering he is in his 9th year on the station, you can be sure he is a safe pair of hands.
