Sailor Jerry Anthem

Sailor Jerry rum are celebrating the last decade with a new short film.

Sailor Jerry rum is all about three things: spiced Caribbean rum (made the old school way, as it should be), tattoos and music. When you consider that the rum is made in the name of Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins – the undisputed father of old-school tattooing – their mix of heritage, craftsmanship, and rock'n'roll isn't all that surprising. Collins spent his entire adult life as a pioneering tattoo artist, independent from regular conventions and completely unapologetic for being so, just like his namesake continues to be.

To celebrate the last 10 years of Sailor Jerry rum causing mayhem, they've put together a short film featuring clips of a few of the gigs, events and backyard barbecues they've held over the years. Look out for exclusive footage from WWII-era Honolulu taken from the Hori Smoku documentary on the life of the original Sailor Jerry, clips of The Black Lips live and a gargantuan cut of meat that makes me realise there's really no other way to eat than cooking half an animal on an open flame.

Maybe the most exciting thing, however, is that the video also marks the first time The Misfits have ever allowed their music to be used commercially. Something that should tell you everything you need to know about the band sharing the same DIY ethos that Sailor Jerry have built up over the years supporting new bands with their Sailor Jerry Presents gigs.

Sailor Jerry will be providing your drinks all night at our
