Miles From Kinshasa Returns With a Literal Bang on "Fireworks"

This is a video and song that sits all in its own world.

In a world of instant gratification, caffeinated drinks, permanent connectivity, fast-paced walking et al,there's something rewarding about waiting and allowing the clock to run its sweet and slow course. In terms of timeline, it's been a minute since we heard from Miles From Kinshasa, who released his debut single (a double a-side of "IVRY" and "KAYA") last year. On his latest video, that tease of new music lingers before exploding into a literal celebration.

Titled "Fireworks", the track (and video) is a worthy pay-off. Equal parts dangerous, artistic, bold and yet also reserved, it's one of the most exciting things we've seen and heard so far this year. Connecting with MFK's Francophone roots (his family are Congolese) but also referencing having "no more parties in Hackney", it's of its own world yet intrinsically connected to various other sounds, places and genres. Ultimately, "Fireworks" is something that stands tall on its own.

But don't let us tell you. Press play above and sit and let the video wash over you.
