The chancellor has pledged half a billion pounds to build new schools and revamp others, while heads in England grapple with a daily funding freeze. The cash used to build and refurbish cannot be used to address the £3 billion spending shortfall in schools. – BBC

I Want to Vote Like Common People
The government could be facing a defeat in the House of Commons over its decision to end the arrival of unaccompanied refugee children. Up to 30 Tory MPs could vote against the scheme, with debate amendments likely to be added to a wider children and social work bill today. – Guardian

The UK public overwhelmingly opposes Theresa May's plan to leave the EU with no deal in place, a new poll has revealed. Between Iraq and a Banned Place
Donald Trump has signed an executive order on Monday that bans immigration from six Muslim-majority countries, dropping Iraq from the previous order in January. The order reinstates a temporary blanket ban on all refugees, including those citizens of the six banned countries who are legal US permanent residents or have valid visas to enter the US. – CNN

Terminal Velocity
The US has deployed the first elements of its advanced Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) anti-missile system to South Korea, in the wake of North Korea's test of four ballistic missiles. – Reuters

Quit Jivin' Me, Turkey
The ongoing war of words between Turkey and Germany has intensified over the past weeks in the lead up to the Turkish constitutional referendum. President Erdogan is keen for a victory in the referendum, which would see his powers increased, and is desperate to campaign in Germany, which is home to 1.5 million Turks who are eligible to vote. – New York Times
