TERRIBLE THINGS HAPPENED IN SPORT THIS WEEKEND
Italian footballer Piermario Morosini suffered a heart attack on the pitch and two horses died at the Grand National

The world of sport had to deal with tragedy this weekend, as 25-year-old Italian footballer Piermario Morosini collapsed and died on the pitch during a Serie B game. A post-mortem will be conducted today to find out whether Morosini died after a heart attack or if the cause was cerebral. It was only a month ago that Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba also collapsed on the pitch, though he has since made an encouraging recovery. Understandably there have been more calls for better medical screening in football. In a commendable show of solidarity, Udinese – the team Morosini was contracted to, though he was on loan at Livorno at the time of his death – released a statement on Sunday night confirming that they would look after Morosini's disabled sister, who relied on her brother for financial and emotional support. Though obviously not in the same bracket in tragedy terms, two horses also suffered fatal injuries in the Grand National, which was won in a dramatic photo finish by 40-1 shot Neptune Collonges. Synchronised, one of the favourites, and another horse called According to Pete had to be put down after falling badly after hurdling fences during the race on Saturday afternoon. UK

Keith Moon died in 1978 but the people who are organising this summer's London Olympics wanted him to play drums at the opening ceremony. The Who's manager Bill Curbishley revealed that he had been approached by the organising committee. "I emailed back saying Keith now resides in Golders Green crematorium, having lived up to the Who's anthemic line 'I hope I died before I get old'," he told the Sunday Times. "If they have a round table, some glasses and candles, we might contact him." There's no word yet on whether or not the organisers are considering this approach or methods, such as exhumation. World
THE TALIBAN FLEXED ITS MUSCLES
Kabul got hit by the group's largest co-ordinated attack in 11 years

The Taliban launched its largest attack on Kabul since the old Afghanistan regime fell in 2001 this weekend. It targeted some of the best-defended places in the city, including various embassies, Nato bases and parliament and government buildings. Taliban fighters used guns, rockets and suicide bombers in what a spokesman for the group called "a spring offensive" designed to demonstrate its strength, though Nato dismissed the violence as "largely ineffective", leaving Afghan security forces to deal with it. Al Jazeera reckons at least 19 people have died. World
JULIAN ASSANGE LOVES DUBSTEP
He chose it to soundtrack the trailer for his new TV show

(via)
Remember when we argued about Julian Assange's new TV show? Well the trailer for it appeared on the internet over the weekend, and it is soundtracked by dubstep. That makes a lot of sense, I guess (or at least more sense than the fact that The World of Tomorrow will air on Russia Today, AKA Kremlin TV). Dubstep – or this farting, squelching brand of Nandrolone dubstep, at least – sounds put together from offcuts from the Hackers soundtrack. Listen to the trailer, and even Assange's own, natural speaking voice sounds like it's been sampled and run through Logic by a stoned sound design student.

OH WOW THEY FOUND A BOOT WORN BY SOMEONE WHO WAS ON THE TITANIC
Wait, they found it in 2004?

And they've delayed releasing it this long why? Why is it even important? Because it's proof that humans were onboard? IDK, I thought that had been established already. Still: BIG NEWS.
