The emo-country band Pinegrove are currently on hiatus following a statement given at the end of 2017 by frontman Evan Stephens Hall. In the statement, Stephens Hall discussed allegations of "sexual coercion" against him, and stated that he'd be seeking therapy while the band took a break.

In a new interview with Columbus Alive, former band member Nandi Rose Plunkett (who records under her own moniker Half Waif) addressed Pinegrove's status. Having resigned from touring with the band in August last year (though she still plans to be involved in recording), Plunkett gave an insight into where the project is currently at:

There’s stuff in the works. There’s the album, 'Skylight,' which is completely done and ready to be released. And they’re working on a new record now. So the band is not done. They’re just trying to find the best way to re-emerge in a way that feels respectful to everyone involved in the situation.

Pinegrove were due to tour the UK this month before cancelling a string of dates. It has been unclear whether their re-emergence would come at all, though these comments seem to imply that they will make a return at some point.

UPDATE 13/03: Representatives for Pinegrove have clarified that there are no plans to release Skylight for the time being. They provided Pitchfork with the following statement:

'Skylight' is finished, but we don’t have any plans to release it until this has been further resolved. We’ve been playing music with each other because that’s what we love to do, but we are not announcing another album right now. We’re sorry for not providing more information but navigating this privately has felt like the best way to be respectful to all parties.
