48-year-old scores record-extending goal, celebrates with a middle-aged-man dance

48-year-old Kazuyoshi Miura scored in the Japanese second-tier at a record-extending 48 years old, then did a fast-footed dance.

Teddy Sheringham holds the record of oldest Premier League goalscorer, having found the net at 40 years and 268 days in 2006, but Japanese evergreen Kazuyoshi Miura makes 'Super Ted' seem positively youthful.

The 48-year-old scored for Yokohama FC as they went down 3-2 to Jubilo Iwata on Sunday in a Japanese second-tier match, then proceeded to sprint of and perform his trademark celebratory dance, which made him look a bit like a half-cut dad at a wedding.

Miura's continued success on the (fairly) big stage is pretty remarkable given that he's less than two years short of his 50th birthday. He was an international regular for a decade, making 89 appearances for Japan between 1990 and 2000 and scoring 55 goals. His club career stretches back to 1986, when he made his debut for Brazilian side Santos, and has also included spells in Italy, Croatia and Australia.

For context, he is older than six current Premier League managers, and a full 12 years younger than the baby of the bunch, Swansea City's fresh-faced gaffer Gary Monk.

Keep it up, Kazu-san.
