Puck Dropping Out of Grey Cup for Ceremonial Faceoff Is Most Canadian Thing Ever

The only things missing were Molsons and maple syrup.

Hockey. Cold temperatures. The Canadian Football League. Maple Syrup. These are all things that are distinctly Canadian.

So it made perfect sense to combine them all in a ceremonial faceoff that had Canada's footprint dripping all over it. OK, maybe not the maple syrup, but you get the point.

Before Thursday's game between Ottawa and Philadelphia, the Senators welcomed the Grey Cup-winning Redblacks to the arena and brought a couple players out to centre ice, including MVP Henry Burris, with trophy in hand to kick off the night.

What followed was the puck being dropped out of the Grey Cup in a Heritage Classic moment that was peak Canadiana.

Never change, Canada.
