I don't use the word 'hero' very often, but VICE Sports senior staff writer Jorge Arangure Garcia, Jr. is the greatest hero in both American and Mexican history. As you, dear reader, are surely aware, Jorge's 9,000 word investigative feature on the saga of @DodgerzGM—a Twitter parody account of former Dodgers GM Ned Colletti—set the world of sports reporting ablaze with its fearless, uncompromising, and rigorous treatment of rumors that Colletti was responsible for Twitter's sudden suspension of the account. True reporter that he is, Jorge even got Colletti to comment on the rumors, sorta…

When reached by phone on Thursday, Colletti angrily inquired how I had gotten his cell phone number. I told him that as a reporter I was pretty good at acquiring numbers. He then asked curtly if I had a question. I said yes. He answered that I should go ask it to the person who gave me his number. And then he hung up.

Don't worry, the Pulitzer committee has been informed and while they can't give the game away this early, let's just say that Jorge has been advised to clear out some space on his mantle. Still, there is great journalism and there is great journalism that makes a difference, that stands in opposition to an immoral world and forces that immoral world to cough up a bit of the justice it hoards from the masses. That is the mark of this profession's most meaningful work, a pantheon of which Jorge is now a member.

Don't believe me? Well maybe you should go check out the old @DodgerzGM account, resurrected in its entirety @Ned2point0, and let me know if you think we don't get fucking results.
