Ali Love Soundtracks Homicidal Lust with "Emperor" feat. Kali [Exclusive Video Premiere]

There's a virtual decapitation in here you should probably see...

In the new video from Ali Love, an unsettling, dreamlike romantic encounter goes all Kill Bill before turning into an actual romantic encounter, followed by a decapitation that will shock you even if you've seen like a hundred decaptiations in your life already. The track, "Emperor," is Love's first solo release on Crosstown Rebels, with whom he'll soon be releasing his follow-up to 2010's Love Harder.

The British singer/songwriter/producer is currently part of blazing hot house act Hot Natured and Infinity Ink, with solo releases on Hot Creations and the mighty Crosstown Rebels, who dropped this dark deep house number in mid-March. (For those of you nerdbombers keeping score, Ali Love also sang on The Chemical Brothers' "Do It Again" and Justice's "Civilization.")

The video follows an abstract take on a sexual encounter, a wet dream that turns into a nightmare and then quickly into one of those unsettling nap dreams that you can't forget, complete with an enigmatic cameo from Chelsea football legend Frank Leboeuf. Apparently, that's exactly what was intended. From director Craig Murray: "For me it's all about role reversals and keeping the audience guessing. The opening sequences are intended to mislead and challenge the viewer's expectations."

So if reading this has given you any expectations, throw them out the window before you press play. Or wait, no, hang on to them so they can be shattered. Ah whatever, just watch it for the mindfuck.
