Ante Ujevic’s Menacing Minimal Techno Will Give You Chills

This Windsorite is topping off a big year with the minimal tracks he does best.

Having trained with Justin James, it's no wonder Ante Ujevic presents such a high level of production skills. The Windsor born first got a taste of techno by visiting the legendary Footwork in Toronto. Since those humble beginnings, fellow Windorite Richie Hawtin has shown him major support. Ante's newest release on Justin James' label refused is called Shadow Stage. The EP is the second for Ante and brings all the elements that the MINUS boss would love―dark brooding echoes, well layered rolling percussion and a range of dark textures.

His groovy, bouncy basslines bring you deep into a dark, minimalistic hypnosis. You would likely label the atmosphere of his newest EP as minimal techno; inspired by the likes of Plastikman. Although, the release also has these groovy elements that other minimal artists tend to omit.

"Dismantle" is the last track on his EP and it brings the heat. From this release alone, Ante is sure to reach your radar as an artist to watch―he definitely has for us.

The Shadow Stage EP will be released on refused on December 23.
