WWE Wrestler Rhyno Is Running for State Legislature in Michigan

This is a big election, and Rhyno is a really big, really real candidate.

A seat is opening up next term in the Michigan State House's 15th district, with the incumbent Democrat being term-limited. It's a chance for the Republicans to gain it back. If you're truly into politics, then you know local elections are the lifeblood of policy change, and that's why no election is too small.

No, just kidding, that's not why that race is news. It's because—

Oh my God, that's Rhyno's music!!!!

Rhyno, or Terrance Guido Gerin when he's away from the squared circle, is on the ballot this November. He just won the Republican primary Tuesday night and will face Democrat Abdullah Hammoud. Presumably, this will be a race based on the issues and not who can spear the other into the abyss.

Kind of like Rhyno did on live TV at the same time as the votes were tallied and his primary victory was being made official.

This is all well and good, but like the voters of Michigan, we want to know: Where does Rhyno stand on the issues?

He wants to keep open public pools by getting local businesses to sponsor them. That seems to be a big part of his platform. It's literally the only thing he's posted under Issues on his website.

Philosophically, Rhyno is a free-thinking conservative. He "gains inspiration from Abraham Lincoln, FDR, John F. Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan," as he states on his site.

"Mr. Gerin believes that government is very important and business is very important. But, limited government is the most important. The two need to work together for the betterment of the people. Because the bigger the government the more they control and the more they control the less freedom you have. One thing Terrance learned from working in and traveling through over 20 countries and 49 of the 50 states is that people just want to be free and not controlled by their government."

And if you want to know where he stands on Trump, Rhyno endorsed John Kasich back in March during the primaries.

If you still doubt his candidacy, just know he's received key endorsements from Kurt Angle and Shane Douglas, as well as the Detroit News' backing during the Republican primary.

So this November, voters of Michigan, if you want someone who can legislate and body slam their political opponents, you can get you a candidate who can do both.
