Gabriel Zimmer is a Brooklyn native with a bachelor of arts in photography from Bard College. In his current work, he stages and photographs scenes that depict an unsettled pairing of organic and manufactured materials. Here, he cut out a rose printed on a plastic grocery bag and attached it to a real flower stem, considering the relationship between matter of opposing origin and function—something man-made and something natural—and whether or not they can symbiotically exist.
