President Donald Trump slammed the FBI for raiding the office of his private lawyer Michael Cohen on Monday, accusing the agency of breaking into his office in what he deemed a “disgraceful situation,” and floating the idea of firing special counsel Robert Mueller.

Trump, speaking to reporters Monday afternoon, chastised both the special counsel and the Southern District of New York prosecutors who seized documents, emails, and records related to Cohen’s activities. According to the Washington Post, prosecutors may be focusing on possible wire fraud, bank fraud, and campaign finance violations, which may include his $130,000 payment to alleged Trump paramour Stormy Daniels.

Last week, Trump broke his silence on the payment to Daniels, denying he knew anything about it. "You'll have to ask Michael Cohen," Trump told reporters from aboard Air Force One. "Michael is my attorney. You'll have to ask Michael."

This time, however, the president went on the offensive. Calling the special counsel’s office “the most conflicted group of people” he’d ever seen, Trump appeared to lob a threat at Mueller.

"I think it's a disgrace what's going on ... We'll see what happens. .. Many people have said you should fire him,” Trump said. “I have this witch hunt constantly going on.”

Trump also criticized Attorney General Jeff Sessions for recusing himself from the probe into Russia meddling in the U.S. presidential election, saying he would have chosen another attorney general had he known Sessions would back away.

“The attorney general made a terrible mistake when he did this and when recused himself or he certainly should have let us know if he was going to recuse himself and we would have put a different attorney general in,” Trump said. “So he made what I consider to be a very terrible mistake for the country.”
