Prominent Republican Meg Whitman said she will be supporting Hillary Clinton's bid for president in November, calling Donald Trump a "dishonest demagogue," the New York Times reports.

The Hewlett Packard CEO told the Times that Clinton had reportedly reached out to her before the conventions asking for her endorsement, but Whitman said she wanted to wait to make her decision. Now, apparently, she has.

"To vote Republican out of party loyalty alone would be to endorse a candidacy that I believe has exploited anger, grievance, xenophobia, and racial division," Whitman wrote in a Facebook post about her endorsement. "Donald Trump's demagoguery has undermined the fabric of our national character."

Not only does Whitman plan on supporting Clinton, she also pledged to talk to other prominent Republican donors and work to raise money for her.

Whitman's endorsement follows on the heels of a similar endorsement from Republican congressman Richard Hanna, who called Trump "deeply flawed." Maybe they just don't want a president who is so obsessed with nuclear weapons.
