Democrats Stage 16-Hour Sit-In Protest for Gun Control
The House of Representatives has been taken over by Democrats staging a 16-hour sit-in to demand a vote on gun control legislation. Republican Speaker Paul Ryan tried to regain control of the chamber, but Democrats, led by John Lewis, chanted "no bill, no break," and sang "We Shall Overcome." At around 3 AM, Republicans voted to adjourn the House until after the July 4 recess.—The Washington Post

Baltimore Awaits Freddie Gray Case Verdict
A judge will today announce the fate of Baltimore police officer Caesar Goodson, charged with second-degree murder in the death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray. Two of the six charged officers have already gone to trial, and both times prosecutors have failed to secure a conviction.—NBC News

Guantanamo Detainee Transferred to Montenegro
A detainee held in the US military prison in Guantanamo Bay for more than 14 years has been transferred to Montenegro after the Pentagon decided he was no longer a "significant" national security threat. The transfer of Yemeni man Abdel Malik Ahmed Abdel Wahab Al Rahabi leaves 79 detainees left at Guantanamo.—The Wall Street Journal

Michigan Sues Companies Linked to Water Crisis
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has opened a civil lawsuit against several companies linked to the lead contamination of the Flint water system. Schuette, who is leading the state's investigation in the contamination, said his office was "pulling the wagon of justice for Flint." The lawsuit targets seven companies in total.—VICE News

Boko Haram Refugees Starve to Death at Camp
Almost 200 people at a camp for refugees fleeing Boko Haram have died of starvation in the past month, according to Médecins Sans Frontières. Kim Jung Un Claims Missiles Can Reach US in the Pacific
Following a test launch of an intermediate-range missile, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has claimed his country has the capability to attack US interests in the Pacific.
