Life In Budapest Drawn In MS Paint Mixes The Trashy With The Surreal

Paint Mámor showcases the unusual work of Hungarian artist Noemi Mondik.

Hungarian artist Noemi Mondik turns a lurid eye onto the world around her and filters it all through an MS Paint aesthetic, publishing the results on her Tumblr Paint Mámor (which Google Translate interprets as “paint intoxication”).

The pieces, either GIFs or images, are autobiographical—the artist’s life in Budapest—mixed with the surreal. They highlight the trashy and sleazy minutiae of life, like cigarette ends, people urinating in the street, and pervy old men on the metro train—along with dogs riding chariots, hamsters supping wine in front of a fire, and picnicking lizards.
